Updated 09/19/2026 | Published 09/16/2026

Question:

I have an Intech Trailer with 7 inch frame rails. I need a weight distribution hitch for 10000 lbs with a tongue weight of 1000 that will fit this trailer. Can you direct me to what will work?

Hi Dave, for your 10,000 lb trailer with a 1,000 lb loaded tongue weight and 7 inch frame rails, the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution with Sway Control part # BLU77FR, is a what you need. You’ll also want the Blue Ox L Brackets with 8 inch Frame Mounts, part # BLU58UR. Most of the standard brackets are designed for up to 6 inch frame rails, so these 8 inch mounts are what allow the TrackPro system to work with your 7 inch trailer frame.

I really like the Blue Ox systems because the head angle is preset, which makes setup more straightforward without having to mess with washers and fine tuning the head angle, that makes setup so much easier. The Blue Ox systems also have a really loyal following in the trailer community because of their quality.

Just keep in mind that these systems go off of your loaded tongue weight so let me know if the 1,000 lb number isn't the tongue weight of your trailer while loaded and we will go from there.

What do you usually haul in the Intech, and where do you tow most?
