Question:

Question on progressive dynamics replacement -had a Parallax 6300 q series your site says PD4645 45 amp is a placement for the6300 but the 6300 is only 32 amp. Also 6300 has 3 wires right side red light blue and white and the PD4645 only has 2 wires a black and white and on the left side there are 3 wires black white green and ours only 2 on the left white and black so does the board also get upgraded to make it compatible? May be easier to talk to someone is that possible?

Hi Kelly!

The Progressive Dynamics Replacement Section for AC/DC Power Distribution Panel - 45 Amp # PD4645V can indeed be used to replace your Parallax 6300 Q series, even though it was a 32 amp set up. Going higher isn't going to cause any problems like going with one rated lower than the one you are replacing would. However, if you prefer to have one that matches your original one more closely, we do also have the Progressive Dynamics Replacement Section for AC/DC Power Distribution Panel - 35 Amp # PD4635V. Either option would work perfectly fine for you, but the 45 amp option would just get the job done faster.

As to the wiring, in the AC power section, you will connect the new converter neutral (white) wire to neutral distribution block and converter ground (green) wire to ground bar. Then connect hot (black) wire to the existing AC branch breaker. If the utility pigtail was used on the original installation, two short lengths of 14AWG wire and a wire nut may be used to provide the utility pigtail.

Then in the DC power section, route the new converter DC wires behind the new DC power distribution board (so yes, you do get a new one with this). Connect the new converter power (black) wire to the new DC power distribution board terminal labeled ‘CONV POS+’. Connect the negative (white) wire to the DC board terminal labeled ‘CONV NEG-’.

I'm pretty sure that answered your questions, but if it didn't just let me know.

What are you wanting to install one of these in?
