Installing Hellwig Front Anti-Sway Bar On 2023 Ford E-450 Class C

Question:

I recently ordered and received the Hellwig front sway bar part number HE26GR. Please advise me what the Ford factory torque specs are for the bolts that are used to install this part. I am installing it on a 2023 Ford E450 class C motorhome.

Hey Richard! The Hellwig Front Anti-Sway Bar # HE26GR instructions call for the mounting hardware to be tightened to the Ford factory torque specs. From what I could find, those specs are 111 lb-ft for the large forward bracket bolts, 18 lb-ft for the smaller rearward bracket bolts, and 59 lb-ft for the end link nuts. However, I recommend verifying these torque specs with your local Ford dealer before installation since we don't have access to the 2023 E-450 factory service manual.

Richard. I added the Helwig 1 3/8 dia sway bar to my 2024 Jayco 29mv motorhome 33ft. Towing a minivan on a tow dolly we are 53ft bumper to bumper. A couple early trips before the Hilwig bar proved it needed help in the front . A cross country trip to Calif. After installing the bigger bar. What a difference! Worth every penny. The holes where the frame brackets went were a challenge. Ended up using bolts and nuts. The holes that were just tapped into the frame just didn't work. Etrailer has been great to work with. Everything I've need they have . Prices are good. Delivery is good. People I've talked to are great . They know their job and are nice to talk to. Thank you. David.
