What are the overall dimensions of this part? How will I know it will fit without the dimensions?

Hey Lee!

The dimensions of the Solera Anti-Billowing Kit # LC78FR are mainly useful for confirming that you have enough physical clearance around your slide topper and RV wall for the kit to mount properly. Lippert has confirmed, though, that the inside diameter of the arm is 2.545".

The more important fitment detail is the slide topper itself. The # LC78FR is designed for Solera 1000 and 5000 Series slide toppers, so if you can confirm which slide topper you have, that will tell us a lot more about compatibility than the dimensions alone.

If you're not sure which Solera system you have, send me a photo of the roller tube/end cap area and I can help identify it.

The system has an “arm” that connects to the awning end tube. Mounted on the RV side wall is an “landing pad “ or stop rest. With the slide out fully retracted, you install the pad and then the stop arm to the awning tube. Pretty simple to layout. What this does is stops the cover from unspooling during high winds on the road. I had two covers partially unspool during high winds, tearing both covers. Worth the time to install.

@Keith this will fit and it’s totally worth it. Just make sure you seal for water intrusion prevention. $20 is cheaper than a new awning.

It will fit under about any awning. It stabilizes the tube while driving down the road. Works well. No complaints from me.

Hi Lee, We purchased these for our new solera slide toppers and they do work very well. Purchase is definitely worth it. My husband added these to our slide toppers and it was not hard at all, we also watched some YouTube videos for assistance in installation. If you travel a lot on the highway you have probably seen some of those slide toppers unraveling in the wind as we have seen many times.
