I want to upgrade to Liion batteries and will need to upgrade my WF-8735 converter to get Liion charging profile. If I get 2 165 amphr batteries, would it benefit me to go to a 45 Amp converter vs. the 35 Amp WFCO converter?

Hey Jim!
Yes, with two 165 amp-hour lithium batteries for a total 330Ah battery bank, I would go with a 45-amp converter rather than staying with a 35-amp model. The larger converter won't give you any additional battery capacity, but it can recharge that fairly large battery bank faster when you're plugged into shore power or running a generator.
For your setup, I recommend the Progressive Dynamics 4000 Series Mini RV Converter w/ Charge Wizard and AC/DC Distribution Panel # PD4045KA. It gives you 45 amps of charging output and has a selectable lithium charging profile, so it will properly charge your new lithium batteries.
The Charge Wizard portion is used for the multi-stage charging profile when the converter is set up for lead-acid batteries. When switched to lithium mode, the converter uses its dedicated lithium charging profile instead. This also gives you some flexibility if you ever change battery types down the road.
The 35-amp WFCO # WF96FR would also work with lithium batteries and is a more direct replacement for the WF-8735, but with 330Ah of battery capacity I'd take advantage of the additional charging output of the 45-amp Progressive Dynamics unit.
Are your two 165Ah batteries going to be wired in parallel as a 12-volt battery bank?

Yes, they would be wired in parallel for the 12v system in my little camper. I might try just one 165 amphr battery at first and upgrade to two batteries if needed.
