Hey Roger!

We do not currently carry a 2" trailer hitch receiver for your 2023 Kia Soul. The only hitch we have available is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C67FR, which has a 1-1/4" receiver opening.

If you specifically need a 2" receiver, the Draw-Tite 76591 was a Class III 2" hitch confirmed to fit the 2023 Kia Soul. Unfortunately, we no longer carry Draw-Tite hitches following their parent company's bankruptcy, and this hitch is no longer in production. You may still be able to find remaining inventory from another retailer online.

What are you planning to tow or carry with your Soul? Depending on the accessory or trailer you're using, I may be able to help find another setup that will work with the Curt # C67FR.

Per KIA, the Soul is not equipped to handle the weight you would pull with a 2” hitch. I put the 1 1/4” on my ‘23 Soul. I put a regular bike rack (not e-bikes) for two in the receiver. I have no problems. Double check warranty info as towing more than recommended may void it.

@NancyW Thanks for your advice! That was my thought too, so I was surprised when I saw the 2" Draw-Tite hitch online during my inventory checks. My bet would be it was made for bike racks and cargo carriers with 2" receivers to use without an adapter that would reduce their capacities and not rated for heavy towing, but since it's no longer available I don't think there's any worry about worst case scenarios. How often do you get to take your bike out? We're in Missouri and I'd normally be riding multiple times a week, but it's been miserably muggy for a couple of months now. Haha

I had to go with the 1 1/4 inch receiver, put a 1 1/4 inch insert into it and then drilled the hitch out for a 2 5/16 ball. I am only pulling an empty trailer with it so I can manuver it around the campground, so very little weight involved. Just don't overload the Kia's towing capacity and you will be fine.

@Jon Thanks for the advice and recommendation! Do you use the Kia Soul for work or are you just able to camp regularly?

I installed the standard (smaller) hitch. Very easy, simple installation. Then I bought a 1.25 to 2.0 adapter, which solved the problem. Just be sure to keep the load you are adding within the limits published in the KIA owner manual. Exceeding the manufacturer’s specifications is a bad idea.

@KempH Thanks for the advice! What do you normally tow with your Soul? Since adapters reduce the capacity by 50%, did it affect what you were able to tow?

@JerryB - I towed a small utility trailer. Total loaded weight of trailer never exceeded 600 pounds, and the tongue weight never exceeded 80 pounds. The KIA Soul is not a very capable tow vehicle.

@KempH Haha you're right there, but I'm glad it was able to do what you needed it to!

I put a 2” ball on my hitch. Pull a 4x5 trailer with some lawn equipment with no issues.

@SimonR That's perfect! Did you install your hitch yourself?
