Thanks for the information Greg! Weight capacity is the big question you're not asking. Other than that the specs you provided are more than sufficient to make a couple of recommendations. Drop is measured in inches not half inches so since you said approximately a 6-1/2" drop, I'm going to suggest two different adjustable ball mounts.
For a 2" ball adjustable mount that provides a 7" drop, I recommend the Fastway Flash Force Adjustable 2-Ball Mount item # FA93FR. This ball mount has 2" and 2-5/16" balls that can be easily rotated depending on what trailer you're pulling. They have a 8,000 lbs and 10,000 lbs capacity.
The Fastway item # FA93FR also has a great feature that allows you to rotate the hitch ball part of the ball mount so you can store it on your vehicle. If you've ever smashed your shin on a ball mount in a parking lot you'll really appreciate this feature. I attached a couple of pictures below so you can see how this ball mount looks ready to use and stored.
For a 2" adjustable ball mount with a 6" drop, I recommend our etrailer Adjustable 2-Ball Mount item # e66PR. This ball mount also has 2" and 2-5/16" balls that can be easily rotated depending on what trailer you're pulling. They have a 7,500 lbs and 10,000 lbs capacity towing capacity.
Out of the two, I highly recommend the Fastway item # FA93FR. The lower drop and rise range combined with the higher capacity, and the ability to store the ball mount on your vehicle make this the best choice.
Please note that when you get that low on drop for an adjustable ball mount they all come with 2" and 2-5/16" hitch balls.
For either ball mount you're also going to need a hitch pin to secure it to your hitch. I highly suggest picking up our etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" Hitches item # e98880. This will not only serve the same purpose as a hitch pin, it'll also keep your new ball mount from walking away.
What kind of trailer are you pulling and what tow vehicle will you be using? Feel free to answer this and throw in any other questions you have, where it says Add Comment.
