Is There a Replacement Inner Member for UFP 34043 without Electric Reverse Lockout

Updated 08/27/2026 | Published 08/21/2026

Question:

Hello, I have a UFP P/N 34043 inner slide that I need replaced. I ordered one with that part number from another vendor and it had the electric reverse solenoid attached. My trailer does not have or need that solenoid. Can you please advise on what exactly I need? I have pictures, but essentially there are two connections on the back of my master cylinder. One had the brake line and another offset had a rubber hose that was zip tied. Please help! Thanks!

Hey Lou!

The replacement inner member you ordered was most likely the Replacement Inner Member for Dexter DX7.5L Actuator # DX99FR. This is actually the correct replacement for the older UFP 34043, but Dexter made some design changes after acquiring UFP, including adding the electric reverse lockout solenoid.

Unfortunately, I’m not finding a current replacement for the 34043 that has the same setup as your original actuator without the electric lockout. The # DX99FR is the replacement Dexter now offers for this application.

That rubber hose on your original master cylinder sounds like it may have been part of a different style of reverse-lockout or pressure-release setup, so I’d like to make sure we know exactly what you have before recommending how to proceed. If you can send me a couple pictures of the back of your original master cylinder, especially where the brake line and rubber hose connect, I can take a closer look and see what that second connection was being used for.
