Question:
Our rig is a 2027 Brinkley Z 3610 with a GenY Gooseneck hitch. Truck is a GMC 3500 w/ 6-10 bed. Will I need a Curt Multi-Fit Ball Kit w/ 4 Offset Part Number: C68ZV to provide more space between the cab and RV front cap when backing? Can the Gen Y hitch be adjusted to accommodate the increased height Approx 3 of the C68ZV?

Good morning Kevin! You’re definitely on the right track wanting some extra cab clearance with the short bed. The only catch is the Curt part # C68ZV won’t fit your short bed GMC. That one is designed for the long bed setup. The puck pattern for the long and short GM trucks is different in relation to the gooseneck hitch ball hole. For your truck, I recommend the Gen-Y 5 inch Offset Gooseneck Ball, part # GY55XR. It actually gives you an extra inch of offset over the Curt, which is nice with a fifth wheel this size.
You also won’t need to adjust your Gen-Y pin box by 3 inches. The GY55XR gives you the 5 inches of offset without adding a rise. Your Gen-Y pin box can be adjusted if you need to fine tune how level the Brinkley sits once you’re hooked up, but I wouldn’t change anything unless the trailer tells you it needs it.
Between the 5 inches of offset and the rounded front cap on your Brinkley, you’ll have quite a bit more breathing room between the trailer and cab. I’d still keep an eye on things during really sharp turns since no short bed setup can guarantee clearance at every angle.
Are you mostly looking for that extra room when backing into campsites?

With any short bed truck, you'll want an off set ball to ensure you have clearance
