Question:

Im looking for a ladder rack for my 03 dodge dakota quad cab over the canopy style. Do you offer such a thing?

Hi Keith, Sadly, we don’t currently carry a traditional ladder rack for your 2003 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab that will extend up and over a cab high camper shell. Most of the ladder racks we offer need access to the bed rails, so the canopy gets in the way.

A good alternative would be mounting a rack directly to the camper shell. The Rhino Rack Aero Bar Roof Rack for Camper Shells part # Y02-480B gives you 54 inch crossbars on tracks that permanently mount to the top of the shell. Before going this route, I’d check with the camper shell manufacturer to make sure the roof can support the rack and whatever you plan to carry.

If you need additional support toward the front for longer gear, the SeaSucker Monkey Bars part # 298-SX6000B can give you a removable crossbar on the cab without drilling into the truck roof. It isn’t quite the one piece over the canopy ladder rack you had in mind, but depending on what you’re hauling, a combination like this may get you where you need to go.
