Hi Sarah, thanks for your question.

I believe you’re comparing the Van Windows Direct Half Slider Van Bunk Window, part # VW54ZR, with the Van Windows Direct Rear Quarter Side Panel Window, part # VW54VR. I wasn’t able to find a window under part VW54FR, so if that is the number you meant, just let me know and I’ll be happy to take another look.

The # VW54ZR is the one I’d choose if you specifically want a bunk window. It measures 34 inches by 11 inches and is designed for sleeping areas where you want a shorter window along the bed. It also has a sliding section, which is really nice for getting some airflow around the bed without installing a large window.

The # VW54VR serves a different purpose. It is a larger fixed window designed to replace the solid rear quarter panel on the passenger side of a Ram ProMaster with a 136 inch wheelbase. It gives you more natural light and visibility in that area, but it does not open for ventilation like the bunk window.

If you can confirm whether VW54VR is the second window you were looking at, Sarah, I’ll be happy to make sure we’re comparing the right two. What are you trying to accomplish? I am happy to help!

My mistake, the other siding bunk window number was VW83FR. It looks like it is a bit taller?

I meant sliding bunk window VW83FR not VW54FR.

@SarahH Yep, you’ve got it, Sarah! Sorry about the confusion on that part number. The Van Windows Direct Overlander Half Slider Bunk Window part # VW83FR is a little larger than the # VW54ZR. The # VW83FR measures 36 3/4 inches wide by 13 1/8 inches tall overall, with a 35 7/16 inch by 11 7/8 inch cutout, so it gives you a bit more window and height. The # VW83FR still gives you that opening half slider you’re looking for around the bunk area, with a vented opening measuring 16 inches by 9 3/8 inches. If you have the room for the larger cutout, I like the extra size for getting a little more light and airflow around the bed. How much space do you have available where you’re planning to install the bunk window?
