Hey JP, thanks for reaching out. Yes, the MouseBlocker PROx # MB94FR can be used in a chicken coop. It uses ultrasonic frequencies between 25 and 45 kHz to deter mice and other rodents, and chickens are not expected to hear the frequencies used by these MouseBlocker systems.
The bigger thing to keep in mind is that the # MB94FR is a 12V unit designed primarily for vehicles and equipment with 12v batteries. It works best when aimed into an open area where the ultrasonic sound can reflect without being blocked. For a permanent chicken coop with access to 120V power, I prefer one of MouseBlocker's plug-in building units like the MouseBlocker 360x # MB64FR which covers up to 1,000 square feet with a direct line of sight.
If you already have a 12V power source at the coop, the # MB94FR is a solid option and gives you the added strobing lights as a second rodent deterrent.
How big is your chicken coop? Do the chickens have large talons?
