Question:

Looking for a hitch to fit my 2020 Honda CR-V. Many are described as requiring the bumper cover will need to be cut/trimmed. Are there recommended hitches that do not require any such accommodation for installation? Thank you.

Hi Howard,

If you're wanting to avoid cutting the bumper cover on your 2020 Honda CR-V, the only hitch option we have that doesn't require cutting is the TowSmart Trailer Hitch Receiver part # TS67ZR. However if you have a hybrid model of the CR-V this hitch will not work as it's only intended for the non-hybrid 2020 Honda CR-V. If you do have a hybrid model, the only options we have require the bumper cover to be trimmed.

The TowSmart part # TS67ZR doesn't require bumper trimming because it isn't a concealed cross tube. The cross tube sitting below the bumper will make the hitch lower to the ground so you'll want to be aware of steep inclines or large bumps while driving when using the hitch. It has a 675lb tongue weight and 4500lb tow capacity, which is more than enough to handle the heaviest e-bikes or small trailers. I've linked the video to this hitch being installed on a 2020 CR-V so you can see how it'll look on the vehicle.
