Hi! We can definitely help you find a replacement axle for your 2018 Heartland Mallard M33. Since those axle stickers are gone and we can’t reliably identify the original axle from the trailer information alone, we’ll need a couple of measurements from what you have now to match it up.

The two big measurements I need are hub face to hub face and spring center to spring center. Measure the hub face from the flat surface where the wheel mounts on one side straight across to that same surface on the other side. Then measure from the center of one spring seat to the center of the other spring seat. I’ll also need the axle capacity if you can find it, along with your wheel bolt pattern, the diameter of the axle and whether the axle has brakes.

For example, the Dexter axle part # 35545E-ST-EZ-89 you were looking at is rated for 3,500 lbs and measures 89 inches hub face to hub face and 74 inches spring center to spring center. It has a 2 3/8 inch diameter axle tube and comes with 10 inch by 2 1/4 inch brake drums with a 5 on 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Those measurements are what we need to compare against your existing axle before we can say it’s the right replacement.

Send me those hub face to hub face and spring center to spring center measurements, and I’ll be happy to see what we have that matches your Mallard.

@DanielE Thanks for getting those measurements, Daniel. The closest option we have is the Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with E Z Lube Spindles, part # 8327816. It matches your 5,200 lb capacity and your 86 1/2 inch hub face measurement exactly. The difference is the spring centers. This Dexter axle measures 71 1/2 inches spring center to spring center, while yours measures 68 1/2 inches. That spring center difference doesn’t necessarily rule it out because new spring seats can be welded onto the axle at your required 68 1/2 inch spacing. I’d have a qualified trailer or welding shop handle that since the spring seats need to be positioned and welded correctly. The # 8327816 also uses a 3 inch diameter axle tube. Can you measure the diameter of your existing axle tube and let me know what you have?
