Complete Flat Tow Set-Up for 2025 Chevrolet Colorado ZR1

Hello William,

Happy to get you a flat tow package put together for your 2025 Chevrolet Colorado ZR1. I have also attached our Dealer Locator so you can see who is in your area that you can trust to complete the installation.

For the base plate, I recommend the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit with Removable Arms # RM28GR. This gives you the attachment points needed to connect your truck to the tow bar, and the removable arms help keep the front of your Colorado looking clean when you're not towing. I attached an image so you can see where it will install.

For the tow bar, I would go with the Roadmaster Nighthawk All-Terrain Tow Bar with LED Lights # RM-676. It is one of my favorites because it is easy to hook up and unhook, even if the truck and motorhome aren't perfectly aligned. The built-in LED lights also add visibility while you're towing.

To help protect the front of your Colorado from rocks and road debris, I recommend the Roadmaster Tow Defender Protective Screen # RM-4750. It installs between the motorhome and your truck and does a great job of keeping debris from getting kicked up during your travels.

For the lighting, you'll want the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-152. This lets your Colorado's factory taillights work with your motorhome while keeping the two electrical systems isolated from each other.

Since your Colorado is gas-powered, I also recommend the Roadmaster Battery Ace Battery Disconnect with Key Fobs # RM39ZT. This allows you to disconnect the battery with the push of a button instead of removing the battery cable by hand each time you tow.

For your supplemental braking system, if you already have a Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo, Brake Buddy, or another portable system, let me know which model you have and I'll make sure it will work with your Colorado. If you don't already have one, I recommend the Blue Ox Patriot Portable Flat Tow Brake System # BLU37TR. It is proportional, easy to move between vehicles, and one of the simplest portable systems to set up. If your Colorado does not have a 12-volt outlet available where the brake system will be plugged in, you'll also need the 12 Volt Outlet Kit, 20 amps # RM-9332.
