Question:

I have existing electric drum trailer brakes, Axletek 07-GG. Do you offer a self-adjusting brake replacement?

Hey Kevin! As far as I know nobody makes self-adjusting brakes in that size. If you need replacement brakes you can use the etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes - 7" - Left/Right Hand Assemblies - 2,000 lbs # AKEBRK-2 but they're going to be manual adjust just like you have now.

What kind of trailer are you working on?

Trillium Outback travel trailer. Too bad for me. It is a pain to crawl under and make adjustments.

@KevinD I understand, that is never a good time. I'm pretty sure the size of the brakes just doesn't allow for the additional parts to add the self-adjusting mechanism. The only other solution would be to upgrade to disc brakes like # KOD27FR assuming you have # L44649 inner and outer bearings.

Self adjusting is not available in 7". Its actually easy enough once you sort out the jacking method (I use a bottle jack on my axle) , a pencil flashlight to see the star wheel, a small flat bladed screwdriver. Turn the starwheel notches up to tighten, down to loosen. Overtighten then back off till it spins with almost no drag (or no drag). More importantly - don't drive with your ebrake controller set too high AMHIK - you can cook the drums and your bearing grease.

@Anthony sounds like you've got the adjustment process down to a science. AMHIK is usually a lesson you only need once when it comes to an overzealous brake controller. Thanks for sharing the tips!
