Replacement Hardware For Curt Trailer Hitch C13406

Updated 08/05/2026 | Published 07/24/2026

Question:

I need a hardware kit for a CURT 13406, the part Curt gave me was, 13406-BK. I got a deal on a hitch but it did not include the hardware, so I need that to install it. Thanks.

Hi Jeremy!

To get that Curt hitch # C13406 attached, you are going to want the C34FR65KY hardware kit (our part number for the 13406-BK). This will get you all the hardware that came with the # C13406 hitch originally (see included image). The only thing is, we don't list this hardware kit on our website. The only way to get it ordered will be for you to give our Customer Service a call at 1-800-298-8924. They can get it ordered for you and you will be good to go!

One other thing to note, since this will fit an older RAV4 (2013 to 2018 to be specific), the holes the hardware bolt into can get pretty gunky. This happens over the years from road grime and general dust and other buildup. If you are having trouble getting the bolts to start or turn, you will want to soak the holes in WD40 and clean them out with a nylon tube brush. If it's really bad, I have had people need to use thread chasers to get them fully cleaned out.

What are you going to be using the hitch for once it's installed?

A thread chaser is a must have, it made the installation on my 2017 Rav4 a breeze.

@John Indeed. It's pretty crazy how gummed up those holes can get. Glad you got it installed though! ^___^ What have you been using the hitch for?

Take the time to install ALL bolts correctly. Once it's installed you'll love it on your RAV4.

Thank you. Just a hitch cargo tray or a bike rack.

@Jeremy Gotcha. This will work perfectly for that! Especially since it has the 2" receiver. There are just so many more options for that size than there are for the 1-1/4" receiver. Anyway, have fun out there and just let me know if there is anything else I can help with down the road!
