Will The Trailer Hitch From A 2014 Volvo XC70 Also Fit A 2022 Volvo XC90?

Question:
I currently have a 2014 Volvo XC70. Buying a 2022 Volvo XC90. Will my trailer hitch purchased from etrailer transfer over? Or do I have to purchase a new one?

Hey Jonathan, thanks for reaching out. You are going to need a new hitch here. The hitch from the 2014 XC70 will only fit the 2008-2016 models. Then the 2016-current models use a completely different hitch design. For your 2022 XC90 I recommend the following:
- Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13233
This has a 2" receiver, 6,000 lb towing capacity and 900 lb tongue weight rating. So plenty strong for hauling cargo, a few bikes, or even a small trailer.
