Correct B&W 5th Wheel Setup For 2026 Ram 2500 Towing 2026 Brinkley Z 2900

Updated 07/22/2026 | Published 07/19/2026

Question:

Hey etrailer! I recently got a 2026 Ram 2500 Limited Longhorn with the puck system, and I'm getting a 2026 Brinkley Z 2900. I want to replace the pin box and use the B&W gooseneck pin box. Which of these 5th wheel setup packages do I need? I'm not sure which capacity to pick and if I need the Rhino or the 1621 you list under these.

Hey John, great question! The correct B&W 5th Wheel Setup depends on your pin box bolt pattern and the weight of your trailer. For your 2026 Ram 2500 Limited Longhorn we have the following available:

-B&W 5th Wheel Setup w/ Gooseneck Pin Box - Lippert Rhino - 25K GTW - 3.25K TW # BW42RV

-B&W 5th Wheel Setup w/ Gooseneck Pin Box - Lippert Rhino - 25K GTW - 4.5K TW # BW52RV

-B&W 5th Wheel Setup w/ Gooseneck Pin Box - Lippert 1621/1621HD - 25K GTW - 3.25K TW # BW92RV

-B&W 5th Wheel Setup w/ Gooseneck Pin Box - Lippert 1621/1621HD - 25K GTW - 4.5K TW # BW32RV

It looks like your Brinkley model comes standard with a Curt Helux which uses the Rhino bolt pattern. If you have a different pin box I can identify it for you if you can tell me the S/N off of the sticker.

The GVWR of your 5th wheel is 14,995 lbs, so based on that the 3.25K TW model # BW42RV would be the correct fit for your Z 2900. All of these kits include the B&W gooseneck hitch ball, safety chain anchors, and safety chains for a complete setup.

Where are you headed with the Brinkley once you upgrade your pin box?

Thanks for all of that information. I believe you're right and it is a Curt Helux. I'll double check to be sure and let you know if it is something else. Excited to get this all set up and hit the road! We're headed out West first, not sure after that. Thanks again.

@JohnT you're welcome! If you haven't picked it up yet I'm sure the dealer can confirm the bolt pattern as well. You're going to have a really nice setup here. Enjoy your time out West, and if you need anything else we're here to help!
