Hi Michelle,

I'd be happy to help you troubleshoot this. On your 2024 Jayco Jay Flight 212QB, if the trailer and the ground are both level but your MORryde StepAbove steps part # MR26RR still slope downward, the most common cause is that the adjustable legs are extended too far. When that happens, they lift the step assembly instead of simply supporting it, which changes the angle of the stairs.

The first thing I'd check is how the top hinge plate sits against the doorway threshold. When the steps are unfolded, that top plate should be sitting completely flat and flush against the threshold. If it's being pushed away from the camper, the legs are likely too long.

I'd recommend folding the steps up and retracting both adjustable legs. Then lower the steps again and make sure the top hinge plate is resting flat against the threshold before adjusting the legs. Once the top is seated correctly, extend each leg only until the feet just touch the ground and lock them into place. The legs are there to support the steps, not to change their angle. If you're on uneven ground, you can adjust each leg individually to keep the steps level.

If the steps still slope downward after trying that, I'd love to help you dig a little deeper. A photo of the steps from the side while they're deployed would be really helpful, as it would let me see how the hinge plate is sitting against the doorway.

By the way, where do you and your Jay Flight 212QB usually like to camp, quiet parks, boondocking spots, or family driveways?

Heather A gives a very thorough explanation so I expect by now you have figured out how to raise and lower the adjustable legs by pushing the individual tabs on the underside. If the legs don't lock in the exact position you want, I find that lifting the steps slightly will help. When you're ready to leave camp, push the tabs while the steps are upright to retrack the legs and you'll be all set for your next stop. Enjoy.
