How to Power Furrion Vision S+ Cameras from Lithium Batteries Without Running Lights

Updated 07/23/2026 | Published 07/18/2026

Question:

I am buying a new 2026 Grand Design Transcend 15RB. I am having 2 Lithium batteries installed. What needs to be done to keep these cameras rear and side running when I am not plugged into my tow vehicle and not have the running lights turned on?

Hi Rollin, yes, you can absolutely power the Furrion Vision S+ cameras part # FR64AD from your trailer's lithium batteries so they'll work even when you're not plugged into your tow vehicle and your running lights are off. Instead of using the factory wiring, which ties the cameras into the running light circuit, you'll need to wire the cameras to a constant 12 volt power source on the trailer. I also recommend adding a simple on and off switch to the positive wire so you can turn the cameras off when you're not using them and avoid slowly draining the batteries.

The installation itself is pretty straightforward. The camera's red wire connects to the always on 12 volt power through the switch part # PK93AV, and the black wire connects to a good ground. Once it's wired that way, you'll be able to use the cameras anytime your trailer batteries are on, whether you're towing, parked at a campsite, or checking around the trailer without turning on the running lights.

Out of curiosity, when you're parked, are you mainly wanting to keep an eye on what's behind the trailer, or are you hoping to monitor both sides while you're at camp?

You will have to have a seperate battery supply and since they are wireless you will have to move the monitor into the Grand Design. I have a 45ft American Eagle MH iad the install was a piece of cake, with a great resulation and wide angle cameras, very great purchasr. Previous MH was a 40ft Discobery and the very expensive system I indtalled in it wasn't any where near the quality of this Furion wireless system. It was a great purchase. I am a retired electrical engineer and i was very impressed with this system. Let me kmow if this helps.
