Best Soft Start for a Coleman Mach 38000 Air Conditioner on a Rockwood 2509S

I have a Rockwood 2509s mini lite that has a Coleman-Mach 38000 a/c unit and Im trying to locate a soft start to fit this unit. Im not an application for that model. Can you guide me to the correct Coleman soft sart?

Hi Chuck, I'd be happy to help. The Coleman soft start, Part # CM56RR, is only designed for Coleman Mach 45000, 47000, and 48000 series air conditioners, so it won't work with your Coleman Mach 38000 unit. For your Rockwood 2509S, I recommend the SoftStartRV Soft Start, Part # SSR54FR. It's compatible with your air conditioner and is a great option if you're looking to reduce startup power and make it easier to run your AC from a smaller generator or limited campground power.
The SoftStartRV does a great job of reducing the initial surge when the compressor starts, which helps prevent nuisance breaker trips and puts less stress on the air conditioner over time. It also makes the startup much quieter and smoother, which is a nice bonus whether you're camping off the grid or at a campground.
Out of curiosity, where do you usually camp with your Rockwood, mostly at full hookup campgrounds or in quieter boondocking spots?
