Looking for 50 Foot Long Go Power GP-RVC-MPPT-30 Cable

Updated 07/27/2026 | Published 07/14/2026

Question:

My existing communications cable between the GP-RVC-R remote and GP-RVC-MPPT-30 controller has six wires going to a 6pin RJ connector on each end. Will this 34279523 cable work as a replacement? The description says: Connector type: modular 6p4c RJ11 My cable has 6 conductors, not 4. Thanks for your help.

Hey Henri, this is a great question but Communication Cable for Go Power Inverter Remotes and 30-Amp Digital Solar Controller - 50' Long # 34279523 is for sure the correct communication cable you need. I verified this with Go Power. Are you upgrading to a longer cable or did you damage your current one?

Thanks for the reply. I am trying to sort out why the GP-RVC-R remote is no longer communicating with the GP-RVC-MPPT-30 controller. Not sure if it is the cable, remote or something else. Any suggestions on how I can test the cable and troubleshoot my problem without having first buy a whole new remote and cable? (which I see eTrailer also sells) I have cable testers for telephone and CAT5 wiring. Thanks for your help.

@HenriP Before replacing any parts, I'd recommend verifying the controller has battery power, reseating the communication cable at both ends, inspecting the cable for damage, and checking each conductor for continuity with a multimeter. If the cable checks out and the controller is powered but the remote still won't communicate, the issue is most likely the remote display or the controller's communication port. Without a known-good remote or controller, there isn't a published test to isolate which of those two components has failed.
