Can Furrion Chill Cube Replace Bedroom AC Unit of 2017 Sandpiper RV

Question:
I have a 2017 Sandpiper front living, rear king. It has a dometic dual zone AC set up with zone 1 being in the rear bedroom and zone 2 in the front living room. Zone 2 quit however zone 1 still functions perfectly. Can I replace zone 2 with a chill cube as a non ducted unit existing dometic is non ducted while keeping functionality of zone 1 and the furnace on the existing dometic thermostat? I dont mind manually controlling the Furrion or installing its own thermostat, but I am not ready to replace the furnace and the zone 1 AC unit yet.

Hey Christine, good news! you can do exactly what you are asking about. With the Furrion Chill Cube part # FR59TD you can run it as it's own separate zone in your bedroom with it's own controls disconnected from your Dometic and it will work great and won't interfere with the operation of the other AC or the furnace. This also has a remote so you can control it from bed if needed without having to get up.
This is also a super quiet AC unit too which I think you'll really appreciate in your bed room as well.

It will work with the wall throstat if you take the battery out of the remolt. I just use the remolt or the controls on the unit itself . Was unable to get the furnace to work on the wall unit so I just bought a simple furnace unit to control it.
