Question:

I have a Curt C17500 weight distribution hitch with a 2x2 shank. I recently purchased a GMC 2500 with a 2.5 receiver. Do you have a shank that will fit a 2.5 receiver but also connect to this C17500 hitch? I dont want to use a reducer if i dont have to. Thanks.

Hi Josh!

To get your Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System # C17500 working in your new Sierra 2500 (congrats!) without using a reducer sleeve, you will want something like the following part:

Curt Weight Distribution Shank for 2-1/2" Hitches # C17131

This is just about identical to the shank that came with your weight distribution system, but it fits a 2-1/2" receiver. If you haven't had the chance to install your system on your new truck, I highly recommend it before going with this shank though. And yes, that means using a reducer sleeve (like the # e26YR).

Reason being, truck heights are always different and you may end up needing more drop than your did before. If you don't, you are good to go with the # C17131. If you do need more drop, just let me know and I can find a better option for you with more drop.
