Updated 07/16/2026 | Published 07/12/2026

Question:

Hello I have a 2024 Brinkley 3100 I need to replace the brakes and at least one hub. I filtered my search results for my camper but I’m still not sure what parts will be best for my vehicle. I’m looking for some direction on choosing the correct parts. Thanks!!

Hi Mark!

From what I could find, your 2024 Brinkley 3100 uses two 7K axles and the wheels have the 8 on 6.5 bolt pattern, so we definitely have you covered! The only thing I couldn't confirm was the stud/lug size, but I'm fairly sure they are 9/16" and that's what the part I have below has. I strongly encourage you to double check this and just let me know if you do have a different stud/lug size (we have plenty of options). With that said, these are the parts I recommend:

etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes - Self-Adjusting - 12" - Left/Right Hand - 5.2K to 7K # AKEBRK-7-SA
etrailer Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum for 5.2K - 7K Axles - 12" - 8 on 6.5 - Pre-Greased # AKHD-865-7-2-EZ-K

The brakes are sold as a pair (you get one right and one left per order), so if you are needing to replace all of them you will need to order a quantity of two. The hub/drum is sold as a single unit, so if you are just needing one, you only need a quantity of one.

These brakes are also self adjusting, which makes them a lot easier to live with. None of that having to crawl under your camper to adjust them every so often as they do that part for you. The initial bedding process can take a little longer, but it's definitely worth it in the long run.

What are you pulling your Brinkley with? And where have you taken it so far?

Loaded backing plates from etrailer are the way to go. In fact, anything bought from etrailer is the way to go in my opinion as they rate highly with me. But, out of their control, I pinched one of the brake wires between the axle and backing plate enough to short to ground. Keep an eye on those wires before torquing the backing plate hardware!

@Tom That's a bummer! Hopefully it didn't cause too much trouble to get the brake working again though. Definitely something you want to watch out for! And thanks for the kind words! We do our best to get everyone taken care of to the best of our abilities and it's always nice to hear we are doing a good job! ^___^ Have fun out there and let us know if there is anything we can help with down the road!
