Replacement Tailgate Weather Seal for a TruXedo Lo Pro QT on a 2014 Ram 1500

Question:
I am looking for a replacement rear tailgate weatherstip seal for a Truxedo Lo Pro QT bed cover on a 2014 Ram 1500 quad cab. It is the rubber seal that meets the top of the tailgate on the soft bed cover. Thanks!!!

Hi Daniel, I believe the replacement you're looking for is the TruXedo Replacement Header Seal, part # TX1704787. This seal is used as either the front header seal or the rear tailgate seal on TruXedo Lo Pro soft roll up tonneau covers, so it is the correct replacement for the rubber seal that contacts the top of your tailgate.
The seal measures 5 1/2 feet long and is designed to restore the weather seal between the cover and the truck, helping keep water and debris out of the bed. If your existing seal is cracked, torn, or no longer making good contact with the tailgate, replacing it should help get that seal back.

I believe that is the one I got to replace mine as well. It's been quite a while since I replaced it, but I believe it is longer than is needed and wasn't too difficult to replace. Best to take old one and cut new one to same length. You want to pay attention to the bead that goes in the channel as it is shorter than the flat part of the seal on both sides; you don't want flat part to be short on one side versus the other. Again old one should guide you if it is still in one piece. I don't recall having to cut the bead. Believe you have to remove a cover on one end of the bar to slide out old one and slide in new one. It's been well over a couple years and is holding up just fine.
