Question:
I have a 2017 Gulfstream Ameri-lite 279BH with a ducted 15k BTU Dometic AC B59516.711CO that I need to replace. My trailer has an ADB, and a single zone wall controller. I need to replace this AC with a plug and play replacement unit. Can you help?

Hey AJ,
The B59516.711CO unit that you currently have installed in your 2017 Gulfstream Ameri-lite 279BH uses R-410a refrigerant, which has been phased out of production and replaced with R32 refrigerant. Some models like the Furrion Chill HE Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Coleman Setup - 13,500 Btu - Black # FR62PV do still exist but will be obsolete once their stock is diminished. This would still plug directly into your current R-410a unit and accessories currently installed, but you're not going to be able find many parts for R-410 systems moving forward.
Instead, I recommend going with Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioner w Air Distribution Box - Non Ducted - 18,000 Btu - White # FR59TD. This is a full 18,000 BTU kit that includes your AC unit, air distribution box, and thermometer, so you'll have everything that you will need to move into an R32 setup without needing any extras. You'll also be covered for the future as R32 is the path for trailer AC units going forward.
Has your current unit gone kaput or are you just looking to do a preventative upgrade?
