What Replacement Cotter Pins do I Need for a Dico Model 10 Surge Brake Actuator?

Updated 07/07/2026 | Published 06/25/2026

Question:

Regarding the Dico 10 actuator, do you sell replacement cotter pins for the front and rear roller pins that hold the actuator shocks in place, larger ones in rear and smaller in front? If not I can find somewhere. Thank you also for the information on how the rollers install, especially with the two on the top and the chamfer in towards the shock eye. Great info!

Hello Lance,

Thanks for writing in!

For your Dico Model 10 surge brake actuator, you'll want the Replacement Cotter Pin for Dexter Model 6 and Model 10 Brake Actuators - 3/16" x 1-1/4" # T0815200. Since the Dico Model 10 and Dexter Model 10 are the same actuator family, these are the correct replacement cotter pins.

I'm glad the information on the roller orientation helped. Getting those rollers installed with the two on top and the chamfer facing the shock eye is one of those little details that can save a lot of headaches during reassembly.

What kind of trailer is this on?

Hi Kate and thank you for the information. This is an old Competitive triple axle boat trailer from 91', It has the welded and bondo covered old Dico number 10 surge actuator. I was able to find the cotter pins locally but have been very appreciative of all your help with this. Hope you have a very blessed day and thank you again. You guys are the best!
