Hey Craig, thanks for reaching out. No, you don't have to remove the handle on the etrailer Manual Sidewind Trailer Jack # e88GV when using the drill adapter. The handle folds down out of the way which allows you to attach the drill adapter.

Also, the handle does not spin when using the drill adapter. With the handle folded out of the way you can spin the drill adapter, and the handle just hangs there out of the way.

What kind of trailer were you thinking of using it on?
