Weight Distribution Hitch for a 2025 Winnebago Thrive 25 RLS

Updated 06/24/2026 | Published 06/20/2026

Question:

I have been pulling cattle, equipment and rv’s since 1993 all over the country. Currently i have a 2021 crew cab 4x4 LWB F350 and a 2025 Winnebago Thrive 25 RLS. Truck has no issues towing the RV and most of the time you don’t know it’s back there except when there is a cross wind, which cause sway. I have beat the internet up reading various forums and looked at every brand possible on sway control. From $400 to $3000 sway control options. Is there a sway control hitch that you recommend for my application. Thanks

Hi Nicholas,

For your set up, I'd recommend using the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/4-Point Sway Control part # EQ37120ET for towing your 2025 Winnebago Thrive 25 RLS. The # EQ37120ET is rated for 800-1,200lbs of tongue weight, which should perfectly accommodate the 8,800lb GVWR that your trailer has and have some wiggle room in case you need to add extra weight to the trailer. It has clamp-on L-brackets that can be positioned 27"-32" back from the coupler and can be adjusted to make space for frame mounted items. The 4-point steel friction at the hitch head and L-brackets stops sway before it can start and creates up to three times more side-to-side resistance than other weight distribution hitches. The hitch head works with a washer stack system, so you can add or remove washers on the spacer rivet to dial in the tension for your set up. Backing your trailer into the campground also won't be an issue, since this system lets you back up freely without having to get out and disconnect it from the trailer.

The # EQ37120ET fits 2" hitch receivers, so if your F-350 has a 2 1/2" hitch receiver you'll need to use an adapter to reduce it to 2" to work with the Equal-i-zer hitch. The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve part # e26YR will fit inside your 2 1/2" hitch receiver and easily convert it to 2" without reducing your tow capacity or adding any extension.

Where are you planning on taking your Winnebago Thrive camping next?
