Can MaxxAir MaxxFan Rooftop Vent Be Powered by 12 Power Source
Published 06/11/2026 >
Question:
i want to install a vent fan in place of a basic vent with no fan in the bedroom. this is wired for a air conditioning unit that requires 120 volts. my question is i need a 12 volt power source, could i tap into the light circuit for 12 volts? i have a 2020 coachman Catalina legacy trailer.

Hey Jerry, yes you could borrow a nearby 12 volt power source to power the MaxxAir MaxxFan Rooftop Vent w/ Pivoting Fan # MA36WV. All that really matters is that the power source can handle the amp draw of the light. This assembly draws 2.5 amps which isn't too much but worth checking for.
