Hello James,
The best option is to replace your Tie Down 46304 caliper with the Kodiak Disc Brake Caliper # KDBC225DAC and then use the matching Kodiak Ceramic Brake Pads # K225CP. This will give you a braking system that uses readily available replacement parts moving forward and makes future maintenance much easier.
The caliper swap is fairly straightforward. You'll remove the existing caliper, connect the brake line to the new Kodiak caliper, install the new brake pads, and then bleed the brake system before putting the trailer back into service. If your current calipers are showing their age, this is often the most practical long-term solution.
If your rotors are also starting to show wear, corrosion, or scoring, it may be more cost-effective to replace the entire brake assembly instead. In that case, I recommend the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2R35D. This kit includes new 10" Dacromet-coated rotors and calipers for a complete brake system refresh on a 3,500 lb axle with a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. Installation is straightforward since you're replacing the existing disc brake components with new assemblies, and you'll end up with a complete Kodiak setup that is much easier to service in the future. I attached a picture of what the shiny new ones will look like once installed.
The reason I'm recommending the caliper replacement is that the Kodiak Ceramic Brake Pads # K225CP are designed to fit Kodiak calipers and will not fit the Tie Down 46304 caliper.
What kind of boat trailer are you working on? Just had to replace the TDE surge brake actuator on my 2004 Ranger.
