Hello Paul,

Thanks so much for getting the axle capacity to me. Since your Dexter axles are rated for 5,200 lbs, you will need Bearing Kit, LM67048/25580 Bearings, 10-36 Seal # BK3-300. You will need one kit per hub, so if you're servicing all four hubs, be sure to order a quantity of four.

I attached an image showing everything included in the kit, plus the cotter pin you'll need for reassembly.

If you don't already have grease on hand, I recommend LubriMatic Prime Guard High Temperature Wheel Bearing Grease - Red - 16 oz Can # L11380. One can is typically enough for a complete bearing service.

To make the job a little cleaner and easier, you may also want to pick up the Powerbuilt Deluxe Bearing Packer # ALL647646. It works with a standard grease gun and helps force fresh grease through the bearing while containing most of the mess. It's designed for bearings up to 3-1/2" in outside diameter, which makes it a handy tool to keep around for future maintenance.

When installing the new bearings, be sure to pack them thoroughly with fresh grease before assembly and apply a light coat of grease to the spindle. When tightening the spindle nut, rotate the hub as you snug the nut down to properly seat the bearings, then back the nut off and set the final adjustment according to Dexter's specifications. This will help ensure smooth operation and long bearing life.

Are you doing a routine bearing service before your next trip, or getting the trailer ready for a specific camping adventure this season?
