Question:

I have a 2008 GMC SAVANNAH Thomas built school BUS. I want to add a heavy duty hitch that can tow at least 10,000lbs trailer. What do you recommed ? Or Do I have to custom create one?

Hey Zoe! You have the right idea with the Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch # C97CR. However, you don't need one quite so wide and I recommend getting the longer brackets to make installation easier. The Curt # C99CR (2" receiver) or # C87CR (2-1/2" receiver) would be the best option for your bus.

It looks like your frame is 42" wide and these fit frames up to 44" wide. Both meet the capacity requirements, and they come with 18" drop brackets which you can cut to size to fit your application. Unless you really want a 2-1/2" receiver the 2" will do the job and save you some money.
