Hey Chris! The Peterson LED Identification Light Bar # M169-3R is epoxy-sealed and rated to keep out water and dust on the road. However, this light is not waterproof or designed to be submerged in water. The Optronics LED Identification Light # MCL98RB you picked up is a great choice for a boat trailer since it is fully waterproof and submersible.
