Question:

I have an Exiss Horse Trailer with Living Quarters. It currently has one battery, but I want to add a second battery, thus need the battery cable connection kit to set up parallel wiring. I am not sure which kit to purchase. I want whatever is easiest to install. I am just a weekend warrior type of camper. Just need a recommendation. Thanks!!

The Connect-Ease Quik Dual 12V Parallel Battery Connector # CE86RR is simple and easy to setup. This connector will increase your overall battery capacity by adding a second 12V battery to your setup. By wiring in parallel, it will keep your system at 12V while giving you longer runtime for lights, water pump, fridge controls, etc.

Key points to remember:

Use two matching 12V batteries if possible
Connect positive-to-positive and negative-to-negative
Secure the second battery properly in a tray or box

Are you mostly plugged in or running off battery when you camp?

Great. I just purchased a solar battery charger. I am assuming it will trickle into both batteries. Is that correct?

@LoriF Yes, that’s correct! When your batteries are wired in parallel, the solar charger will charge them at the same time since the batteries act as a single 12V system.
