Solution for Rough Roads Feeling Jarring on 2024 F-250 With Timbrens

Updated 05/06/2026 | Published 05/04/2026

Question:

Hello I have a 24 F250 with the Snow plow prep package never going to be using snow plow and 10500gvwr an package and 3500lbs payload. It also has timbrens on it currently which Im not crazy about.I tow a 2022 Passport 252RD with a weigh safe middleweight WDH hitch about twice a month. While towing I generally have zero issues, maybe every once in awhile get a strong jolt from a PA pothole, all good there. My problem is when my truck is empty and I get onto some rougher roads here in PA and it is quite jarring. I have a 21 F250 for work with the 6.2L and that rides like a Cadillac compared to my 24 F250. Some weight in that truck but not too much which might help slightly. I was thinking of getting the sumo springs for both the front and rears but was curious if that would fix my issue and if so what models would I be looking at and what your thoughts are on the situation? Thank you for your time.

Hey Will! Does it feel like you're hitting the Timbrens on the rough roads? They are basically chunks of rubber so they aren't very forgiving on rough roads and bumps.

The SumoSprings # SSR-127-54 and # SSF-111-47 are a better choice when unloaded ride quality is a concern so that will definitely help out. These will still give you support while towing or hauling, and are much more forgiving on rough roads and bumps which should take care of what you're experiencing now.

Where are you headed next with the Passport?
