Recommended Vent Cover For Ventline E-Z Lift Ventadome Roof Vent

What vent covers are designed to fit this fan/vent? I purchased MaxxAir II covers and the built in mounting tabs on this specific vent required me to drill new holes in the metal brackets and it also forced me to stretch and contour the MaxxAir cover so much that there’s considerable tension on the EZ clips… something isn’t right and I don’t know what vent cover is really compatible. The vent with the MaxxAir brackets pushes the outside clip point about 1 inch wider than the vent cover itself is. I got them on, but it’s just extremely tight and stretched out.

Hello Alonson, thanks for reaching out. You’re not crazy, what you’re running into is a known fitment issue with some Ventline setups and the MaxxAir II style covers. Those built-in tabs can spread the mounting brackets just enough to put tension on the cover and EZ clips, which is exactly what you’re seeing. That’s why I usually recommend going with a standard MaxxAir-style cover like # MA00-933066 that uses separate mounting brackets attached directly to the vent frame instead of relying on those molded tabs. It gives you a little more flexibility in positioning and avoids that “forced fit” situation.
There isn’t a cover made specifically just for Ventline E-Z Lift vents, so everything in this category is technically universal, but the bracket-style kits tend to play much nicer with them. If you’re having to stretch the cover or drill new holes to make it work, that’s a sign it’s not the right match, and long term that can lead to cracked clips or warped plastic. Going with the bracket-mounted version should let everything sit square without tension, keep the airflow where it should be, and save you from fighting it during install or down the road.
