Question:

Do you have a product similar to this one that fits into a 2inch rectangular receiver and angles upward thus, raising the hitch connection point? I am trying to find a fitting that will allow my hitch mounted cargo rack to not ride so close to the ground 24x60 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2inch Hitches being used on a 2012 Ford Taurus.

You can use a dual hitch adapter like part # MPG544, to give you some extra elevation, but be aware that using an adapter like this moves the weight being carried by the hitch further out from the receiver, which places additional leverage on the hitch and its attachment point to the vehicle. Because of this, anytime an adapter or extender is used, the tongue weight capacity of the hitch is reduced by 50 percent.

The hitches we offer for the 2012 Taurus have a tongue weight capacity of 400 lbs, which means that using the adapter would lower it to 200 lbs, which means that the weight of your cargo carrier plus what's carried on it could not exceed 200 lbs.
