Question:

Hello, Im curious if you have to use the telescoping poles at all? Can install the rack to just the poles that are attached to the aframe receiver? I have a trailmanor and have to keep the rack low enough for when i open the camper up. TY

Hi Drew,

I spoke with a representative at Swagman about the Stratus Bike Rack part # S52SR and they do not recommend altering the bike rack or attempting to install it without the telescoping bars/legs. The telescoping bars narrow as they go up to fit into the top bar that is the base of the rack that the horizontal bars that support the wheels sit on. The top bar is also not wide enough to install directly into the vertical bars that are coming up from attaching to the trailer frame. The rack would have to be removed from the trailer frame anytime you wanted to open your Trailmanor.

Obviously, this can be quite a hassle. We can try to find you other options that may work for you, like a front hitch mounted rack, a roof mounted bike rack for the vehicle, or a hitch mounted rack if your camper has a hitch receiver on it. It will depend on how heavy the bikes are that you're looking to carry.

What is the weight of the bikes you're wanting to carry?
