Do I Have To Use The Stealth Hitch Wiring Harness If I Install A Stealth Hitch?

I would like to purchase the Stealth hitch for towing, bike rack, and cargo carrier for its higher tongue weight and towing load capability but I do not want the wiring harness that requires dealer programming. Is there a way to buy the hitch along with other towing accessories like the the trailer chain connectors without the full stealth hitch wiring harness?

Hey Chris, thanks for reaching out. If you intend to tow with your stealth hitch, you will need to purchase the towing kit that comes with the ball mount attachment, safety chain loops and wiring harness. Stealth hitch doesn't offer those parts individually, the only way to get them is to get the full kit. You don't necessarily have to use the stealth wiring harness, so you could get the Curt T-Connector # C56285 in addition to the towing kit if you don't want to do any programming.
That said, for the 2023 Volvo XC90 Recharge, you will need the following:
- Stealth Hitches Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver w/ Towing Kit - Custom Fit - 2" # SH27FRT
- Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56285
Then if you need to upgrade that 4-flat to a 7-way you can use the following:
- Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires # ETBC7
What will you be using the hitch for mostly? What kind of trailer?

Thanks Jesse for clarifying. I'll mostly be using the hitch to pull a small utility trailer so based on your answer, I think I will go for the Oris TS76VR hidden hitch along with the Curt T-connector wiring kit. I see the Oris has some sort of bracket for a wiring harness that can also swing down or be moved up when not in use? Does etrailer have a wiring adapter that is compatible with the bracket?

The Stealth Hitch I purchased for my 2019 Volvo XC90 has been absolutely wonderful, I have zero complaints and would purchase another without question.
