Hi Betsy, I completely understand wanting to get this right the first time so you’re not dealing with fitment headaches later on.

The closest option we have is the CE Smith fender, part # CE17721. It measures 25-3/4 inches long, 7 inches wide, and 10-5/8 inches tall, and it’s made from 16 gauge steel, which is right in line with the thickness you’re looking for. The main difference from your specs is the height, so that’s the piece we’ll want to make sure fits your setup.

When it comes to clearance, a good rule of thumb is to have around 3 to 4 inches of space between the top of the tire and the underside of the fender. That gives you enough room for suspension movement and bumps in the road without the tire contacting the fender. If your trailer sees rougher roads or heavier loads, leaning closer to that 4 inch range gives you a little extra peace of mind.

For mounting, you would also need brackets like the part # CE26098G-2. These are designed for this size range and will give you a solid, secure way to attach the fender to your trailer.

If everything lines up dimensionally and you’ve got that clearance, this setup should work really well. If the height ends up being too tight, a custom fender would be the better route to avoid any interference.

What do you typically haul, and what kind of conditions is your trailer seeing most like water, gravel, or salt?

These are nice fenders, just a few notes : They will have to be painted..rattle can Rust-Oleum works well. Having them slightly higher should be no problem. Might actually even be better. Also they will have to be drilled for your brackets. Set them in place, clamp them to the brackets... If everything looks good, Mark and drill !! Good luck !

@AnthonyB I appreciate you jumping in and adding that, those are all really helpful points. You’re absolutely right that these will need to be painted since they come as raw steel, and something like a Rust-Oleum coating is a great way to protect them, especially if the trailer is going to see water or any kind of harsher conditions. That step makes a big difference in how well they hold up over time. What kind of trailer do you have them on?

I installed them on an old easy loader boat trailer with a 16 ft. Tuffy fishing boat on it. They fit great. 13 inch wheels.

I used these on my home built camping trailer. They worked very well and are more rugged than most out there. They will need paint fairly quickly as they arrive with no corrosion protection at all.
