Question:

I have a 3/8inch DeeZee bed mat in the bottom of my 2024 F-450 bed. I want to cut holes in the bed mat and install the Curt Multi-fit ball kit over the bed mat into the factory installed gooseneck pre package. Is there enough clearance between the ball kit and bed so the bed mat wont interfere?

No, there is not James. The Curt Multi-Fit Ball Kit item # C68ZV requires a minimum of 1/4" spacing above your Ford's bed so it's not resting on it. To use the Curt Multi-Fit Ball Kit item # C68ZV with your 3/8" mat you'll need to do quite a bit more than cut out around the pucks and gooseneck holes.

There's less than 1/2" from the lowest portion of your F-450's bed to the bottom of the bracket on the Curt item # C68ZV. When you measure from the top of the grooves you'll have right at 1/4". If you try to install it over your 3/8" mat the locking handles won't secure.

What kind of trailer do you pull and what has you looking at an offset gooseneck ball on a 8' long bed truck?
