Hey Scott, happy to help!
For an easy-to-install baseplate, I’d go with the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX1128. It’s the only base plate without a cross tube, so the install will be easier. I’ll also list all the parts you need for a complete tow package below. If this isn’t your first time flat towing, let me know if there are any parts you want to carry over to the Jeep, and I can make sure to let you know what you need to do that.
Blue Ox Avail Non-Binding Tow Bar # BLU28QV
Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Braking System # DM86VR
Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-15267
Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751449
Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit # RM-88400
You may need a high-low adapter to make sure your tow bar is within 3" of level between the RV and your Jeep. If you can get the measurement from the top of your hitch to the ground, I can confirm whether you need one and, if so, which one to get.
Again, let me know if you’re carrying over anything from a previous setup!

I have the mentioned baseplate on my 2020 GC Trailhawk. This is the second GC I have installed this baseplate on. Very happy with it. As the expert mentioned, no cross bar. It replaces the factory tow hooks. I installed the first one myself. Is pretty straightforward if not for the drilling out of double thickness front sheet metal in the front superstructure of the Jeep. I do not recommend for the average diy er. I had the rv shop install the baseplate I supplied, purchased from etrailer. Also, I use the Avail tow bar, and have a diesel pusher coach with air brakes, and use an air force one (Demco) permanently installed brake unit in the Jeep. Very easy to live with. Have owned Roadmaster bars and baseplates in the past on different vehicles, and much prefer the Blue Ox. Good luck and safe travels!

We love our Blue Ox tow bar and base plate. It is easy to connect and disconnect. We used it with our Grand Cherokee Limited. We are planning to get a Summit for this season. We chose the Demco brake controller as there is nothing to hook up in the car each time; just connect the wire from RV to vehicle outside. Make sure you get the consistent voltage part if you go with the Demco because Jeep has a variable voltage.
