Question:
All those wires on the back? So you just hook your wires up to those wires and it will work? How do you know which wires are what for labeling?

Hello Amie,
Great question - those wires can definitely look intimidating at first glance.
The PowerMax 30A RV Power Center and Distribution Panel # PM67VR is a full replacement-style unit, meaning you’d be swapping out your entire existing power center, not just the converter section. This unit is designed to fit a cutout opening that’s 12-1/8" wide x 11" tall, so that’s a key measurement to compare against your current setup before replacing it.
When it comes to wiring, the good news is you don’t have to rely on guessing wire colors. The panel itself is clearly labeled, and that’s what guides your connections. Inside the unit, you’ll see marked terminals like:
INPUT-12+ for converter input
OUTPUT-12V+ for battery positive
OUTPUT-GND for all negative/ground connections
Fused outputs (OUT circuits) for your lights, pump, fans, and other 12V circuits
On the AC side, your shore power connects to the breakers inside the panel, and those circuits are also clearly separated and labeled.
So instead of matching color-to-color, you’ll move each wire over to the same labeled function/terminal from your old panel to the new one - typically one wire at a time to keep everything organized.
Most of the time, your existing AC circuits, DC circuits, and battery wiring can all be reused. You’ll just install the appropriate breakers and reconnect everything to the correct labeled locations.
Since you’re working with both 120V AC and 12V DC, be sure to disconnect power and the battery before starting. And if anything feels unclear, having a shop handle the install is always a safe option.
What kind of RV are you working on, Amie, and what’s the main reason you’re replacing your current power center?
