What All Is Involved When Replacing WFCO WF-8955-AD Power Center Converter In RV ?

Updated 01/13/2026 | Published 01/07/2026

Question:

My RV has a WFCO WF-8955-AD power center. Is swapping to the PowerMax PM67VR a straight replacement, or am I getting into rewiring? is this a converter only?

Jeremy, the PowerMax RV power center with converter # PM67VR is designed as a direct replacement for the WFCO WF-8955 and WF-8955-AD power centers, so you’re staying within the same category of all-in-one AC/DC panels. You’ll be replacing the entire power center, not just the converter section.

In most cases, the existing AC branch wiring, DC circuits, and battery connections transfer over to the # PM67VR. You’ll install the appropriate AC breakers in the new panel and reconnect your DC circuits to the fused outputs. You won't need to replace wiring or anything too difficult, but if you aren't comfortable with swapping components then I'd take it to a shop to get it done. You can check out the installer locator link here if need be: https://www.etrailer.com/installer/near-me. I also went ahead and attached an install video for a similar product (no current install videos for this exact part number).

If you want to compare cutout dimensions just to be safe, this one has overall dimensions of 14-1/8 inch wide x 11-7/8 inch tall x 8-1/2 inch deep, and has cutout dimensions of 12-1/8 inch wide x 11 inch tall.

Good to know. I’m comfortable swapping breakers and fuses, just didn’t want to rewire the whole trailer.

@Jeremy You should be fine then. It’s mostly a component swap rather than a full rewire. As long as you take your time labeling circuits, the # PM67VR installs the same as your old one. If you aren't real handy with this stuff then I'd highly recommend a shop doing it since it can be a bit much.
