Question:
Hello, I’m reaching out to confirm compatibility and installation options for the **BandW RVK3050 flatbed Companion hitch**. Here is my current setup: * Truck: 2020 Ram 5500 chassis cab * Bed: CM flatbed hauler body * Hitch: Integrated gooseneck ball mounted through the bed and tied into frame crossmembers * No factory puck system or standard ISR rails From my understanding, the RVK3050 is designed for recessed gooseneck wells in flatbeds, and I want to confirm whether my setup can be adapted to work with this hitch. My questions: 1. Is the RVK3050 compatible with a CM flatbed that has a standard above-bed gooseneck ball not recessed well? 2. If not directly compatible, is there a recommended modification or mounting solution to safely use this hitch? 3. Do you offer or recommend a specific gooseneck-to-Companion solution for this type of flatbed configuration? 4. Given a 22,500 lb GVWR fifth wheel, what hitch setup would you recommend for this truck/bed combination? My goal is to run a safe and properly rated setup for a heavy fifth wheel toy hauler, and I want to make sure I’m using the correct system rather than forcing an incompatible install. Appreciate your guidance. Thank you, Andrew

Hey Andrew! The B&W Companion Flatbed Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # BWRVK3050 is designed to work with the B&W Turnoverball gooseneck hitch. The post fits into the square hole on the Turnoverball. It will not fit that setup unless you installed the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Flatbed Trucks # BWGNRK1500.
What you have right now is industry standard rails with a Curt Spyder # 16085. The Companion # BW52AR fits ISR rails but it is only rated up to 20,000 lbs so it can't handle the toy hauler.
For a rail mounted 5th wheel hitch with a high enough capacity I recommend the PullRite ISRX Super 5th-Wheel Hitch # PUL22RR. If you like having a 5th wheel hitch and gooseneck available we also have the Gen-Y Hitch Advantage Gooseneck and 5th Wheel Combo Hitch # GY53AV which uses the PullRite head and has a gooseneck ball built-in as well. Both will allow you to tow your 5th wheel using the above bed rails already on the flatbed.
What kind of toy hauler are you towing?
