Roadmaster Comfort Ride for 2021 Grand Design Imagine 2450RL

Updated 12/13/2025 | Published 12/10/2025

Question:

Is there a Roadmaster Comfort Ride system that uses 1.75 wide slipper springs. My Grand Design 2450RL uses 1.75 wide springs with 3500 Dexter axles. Dont want to put new hangers on if possible. Thanks

Hey Dave! The slipper springs that come with the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit w/ Shock Absorbers - Tandem 3.5K Trailer Axles # RM82MR are 1-3/4" wide. I'm not sure how they ended up listed differently on the page but that is not correct. You do not need to replace your hangers to install this system on your Imagine. All of the Comfort Ride systems are designed to replace standard 1-3/4" wide double-eye leaf springs.

Any big trips coming up once you upgrade your suspension?

Hopefully to the east coast. Drove to Alaska this last summer. Snapped a leaf spring on our way back. Was quite the adventure getting it towed and repaired. Figure an upgraded suspension along with the Pro Pride hitch we already have should make towing even better.

@DaveH oh no, trying to get support in those remote areas up north can be a real nightmare. The Comfort Ride # RM82MR is one of the best upgrades out there so you will notice a big difference when you head to the coast! If you need anything else don't hesitate to reach out.

@RobinH Wanted to thank you for getting back to me so quickly. The information was most helpful. Will be springtime before upgrading. Trailer put away for winter. Once again you have been most helpful in making my decision.
