Could Redarc Tow Pro Link be Used to Tow Second Trailer

Updated 03/16/2026 | Published 03/13/2026

Question:

I have a 2025 Chevy 3500 6.6 Duramax. I am considering double towing a boat or atv/utv trailer behind my fifth wheel. How would this product work to control the brakes of the boat/atv/utv trailer brakes? Could I just plug this into my 7pin on the bumper and run a 7pin adapter under the 5th wheel that connects the rear trailer to this brake contoller?

Hey Drew, in theory yes you can hook an additional 7-way to the back of your first trailer that would get spliced into the trailer's current 7-way wiring and then the Redarc Tow Pro Link part # RED57AR would control both sets of brakes but you should note that you wouldn't be able to independently control the brakes of either trailer as it will send same voltage on both. You'd also need to be sure you use a super heavy gauge wire for the second trailer's brake output circuit as there would be quite a bit of resistance in wiring to go from the tow vehicle all the way to a second trailer.

Or were you thinking about using this as a second controller for just the second trailer? If so you'd need to make sure all of the 7-way circuits made it to the 7-way installed at the rear of the trailer except for the brake output as this will provide that.
